I had a great time, in my book its a good ride out if it holds your interest, and on that basis, it was cracking
My highlights were:
The constant rain throughout the day, stopping only when I got onto the boring motorway (alright, this first one is a lie:0)
The exciting and challenging roads, a few brown trouser moments always welcome and you didn't disappoint
Getting a bump start everytime we had to set off cos I'm too tight to buy a new battery (Bless all of you that helped)
Those helpful souls from another Bike club sitting in the pissing rain and marking out our route for us, with looks on their faces that said just how much THEY were enjoying their day in the Dales, they brightened my day up no end…
The Folk Singers in the Tan Hill pub, I think one of their songs was an ode to the passing of that great Double Glazing Salesman, Ted Moult ('He Sailed from Liverpool Port in 1843, neeeveeerr to retuuuuuurrn)
One member of the ride dipping out early cos he was going to the Take That concert in the evening…..his name shall not pass my lips
My heated handgrips (Of course…..why wouldn't you need heated handgrips on a ride out in June in England)
Most of all, though, the route was brill. Obviously well planned out, can't believe you used Google Street View, saddo :0)
Count me in if you do do it again Grimm, I'm in.
