Dear all

Here are the details for the Sunday 5th July ride out.

Set off from Workies at 8:30 am so plan to meet there at 8:15am.
Please be there with a full tank ready to go at 8:30 sharp.

There will be some motorway work to get us away from home but after that its Yorkshire dales and North York Moors up towards Consett, and if time allows, an excursion to see the Angel of the North.
We will be out all day and will be covering around 400 miles arriving back early evening so bring your pile cream and some dinner money for a pub lunch.

And this time I promise not to use any Mountain Goat tracks.
Stick with uncle Grimm and every ride out will be an adventure!

Hi Grimm

I wanna come on the trip but need to give lift to brother to Manchester Airport on Sunday Morning. What are the chances of me doing that and then catching you up somewhere on the road? If not, will speak to bruv and see whether I can drop him earlier on to make sure I can be at workies for 8:15

Whilst I'm on, cracking night at the crown last night, thanks to whoever organised the venue, not sure who got the nicest grub though, me with me suasage butties, or the midges, with me:0)

After a few requests I have the details of the first part of the run out on Sunday.

A34 to join the M60 at stockport

M60 anti clockwise

M66 North

At the end of the M66 where it becomes the A56 there is a roundabout which we will pass under then a footbridge over the road and immediately after that there is a layby. I will be meeting some riders there at 9:15. if it is easier to meet up here rather than coming into Poynton first then feel free. Just be on time as I cant wait long.

See you Sunday

Thanks Phil, great ride out!

Excellent roads and a good pace. And to cap it all brilliant weather all day apart from one downpour which we would have missed if we weren't trying to get home a bit quicker.

I think we should go to the Angel of the North again, only next time go armed with a few tins of Dulux and some paint brushes!

Thanks again Phil.

Hey Phil,

Just to add my thanks to that, I think you planned a smashing days ride out. Going over the tops in Northumberland/County Durham/Cumbria/wherever the hell it was, was fantastic. Its my first ride out and I'm really impressed. Thanks to everyone that helped me get my bike road worthy for the ride out, after my little ' next time wait for the tyres to warm up properly before you try and knee scrape a corner' accident, on the way up to meet point. Between us all, we managed to cobble a repair to the footpedal, fix the wonky wing mirror and gaffa tape on the winscreen and still only eneded up leaving the workies ten mins late. Pit crew material I reckon :0)

Thanks again to all, I look forward to the next one!

A great ride, in good weather most of the way, as Rob said only one shower that proved that ventilation on leather trousers lets water in easier than air.  Thanks to Mike for the Gaffa Tape that saved my number plate from falling off!  Only managed 382 miles on the day despite a detour caused by a bike crash.  Thanks Phil

Hello Phil

Thanks for a great ride-out, there were some superb roads that made the journey so rewarding, and the visit to the Angel of the North

was an added bonus.

Even the weather was better than the forecast for a majority of the time.

Regards

Mike H  (1 of the 3 Mike H's on the trip !)

Aw shucks guys!

Glad you all had fun and yes, I really should try harder to avoid monsoons.

Cant believe we travelled for 12 hours and only lost one person ( Mike H ) for about 20 minutes. Anyway, we had two spares with us.

Nice to see some new members joining in but I think getting a crash club t-shirt before youve even bought a PMC t-shirt is just showing off.
