Cliff, one of the chaps from RoSPA, is helping to organise and support a charity ride for Help for Heroes, (the NUMBUMRUN) taking place in August this year by a chap called Andy Reid riding a Trike, lent to him by Boom Trikes of Worsley, from Land's End to John O'Groats.

On Sunday 28th February 2010 Andy will be getting on the trike for a training ride just three months after losing both legs and an arm in a bomb incident in Afghanistan, and Granada Reports who are following Andy's progress, will be reporting on the event.

In the interests of publicity and support for Andy, Cliff is asking for as many people to join them in the ride from Millenium Motorcycles in St Helens to Lynn's Cafe in Whitchurch. The ride will leave Millenium Motorcycles at 12.30 p.m.

For more details see Cliff's site - http://www.numbumrun.co.uk/

I shall be taking part in it myself, and if anyone else is interested in doing so please respond to this post and could you also email Cliff to let him know  cliff@numbumrun.co.uk  (mention you're from PMC)

As it's a fair old jaunt for me to get to Poynton, I'll only lead a group from the Workies as long as there is sufficient interest, (at least 5), and I'll post the relevant details ASAP. Otherwise, I'll be glad to meet up en route.

Cheers,

Rob D.

Must say a big thanks to Shaun, Steve and Doug who turned up for the event, (on their bikes), despite the bitterly cold conditions. Also thanks to Tom, Alison and Claire for turning up to show their support for the cause.

In all, about 50 bikes turned out to show their support, but unfortunately the cold got to Andy, the guy at the centre of it all, and he had to disappear earlier than he'd hoped to do. There was also a change of plan regarding the ride. Instead of heading for Whitchurch, we all ended up in Southport. But a good day nevertheless.

The report will be shown on Granada Reports, (ITV), at 6.00 p.m tomorrow (Monday 1st March).
