See you soon.

PS - Chris, apologies for not saying tara. I was going different way to you at that first roundabout and couldn't catch your attention before you'd gone to say bye.

Hopefully you will see this message. If you want to text about next meet, my mobile is 07986831318

Thanks

Thanx Mike,

Wondered where you'd got to, thought your bike had packed in (joke). I had a really good day apart from stopping every 20metres for traffic lights.

Gonna try and get on the ride out this sat to see huey the helicopter, wonder if thomas the tank will be there…

Anyway see you at the next meet.

Cheers

Chris.

Well done to all who came on the Toy Run this year. 6 of us left the workies and      'Michael Hunt & Ian Jackson' and co joined us at the Showcase Cinema.

There was a fairly good turn out of around 350 bikes, trikes and a quad. and some pretty daft costumes as per usual but the tinsel yardage per bike was definately lower than in previous years. A solitary Plod stopped the traffic to let us out of the car park but then we were left alone. The marshalls did a good job marking the route ( which skirted around the city rather than going near any shopping areas like Deansgate) but the ride was very broken up due to having to stop at traffic lights and then trying to filter past cars to re-group. Didnt feel like we were on a big ride out until we all bunched up again on the entrance to the Trafford Centre. I believe over a £1000 was raised on the day and there was a fair pile of toys handed in but again, nothing like it used to be. And….despite my requests the band refused to play the Wallace & Grommet theme tune, gits!

True to form the Trafford Centre didnt give any notice of the event so even a woman who works there who served me a coffee asked why I was dressed up like Santa adding ' Oh, is it the day the bikers come in?'.

I still think this ride out is worth supporting and it was definately not a dangerous fiasco like last year but I think the big jolly ride outs of the past are long gone, unless Plod has a change of heart.

Mike

Glad you joined us and same to Chris.

PS: Ive figured a repair for your Divvy….Pull that small black earth wire off the rear brake light that I showed you, Keep it safe in a small tub but throw the rest of the bike away. Then buy a new bike and see if that piece of wire fits anywhere. If not, throw that away as well but keep the small tub, there always useful!

Glad to be of help, advice is always free
