HI ALL

My name is Darren johnson and i joined the club last wed 1:4:09. i live in bollington and i use to go to poynton county high back in thr eighties. I,am 44 yrs old and have ridden bikes for as long as i can remember, i use to do a lot of road riding untill i did a track day , in which i got hooked on,  after a yr doing track days a friend of mine suggested we go racing , so we decided to give it a go , iam now into my third yr and loving it.the first yr was a bit of a feeler and i was running a r1 but the class was a little bit to fast for me, so last year i got a cbr steelframe 600 and ran with the wirral 100 finishing overall third, i also ran with nantwich /cheshire and finished second overall, and last but not least tonfanau where again i finished second overall.

This year we  are running with the wirral 100 where we have already had our first meeting at anglesey, where you guessed it i finished second,,, {i must try harder}.We are also giving Darlry moor a try this season in which we had our first meeting there the other week and guess what ? i finished second, were also running with tonfanau and the first meeting is easter sunday where iam goinig to try and win, then were back at Darley moor on easter monday. I have never ridden at Darley before, so i,am quite please with the results i have posted a list of race dates that i,am doing so if anyone wants a run out and can,t think were to go then the race track is a gooder place as any, i would appreciate your support and if your in the paddock come and see me , you can have a brew with us and a chat {the kettle and tea /coffee will be there for you to use }

hi Ian

thanks for the relpy, you cant miss us we have a big yellow iveco transit type van , and the bike is very distinctive its pink and purple  and were usually number 55, just had them repainted for this season … the reason for the pink is that i have 2 young girls and they decieded on the colours… but to be honest it looks very good and we can be spotted on the track from a mile away  lol .

Hi darren i will also be racing at tonfanau this weekend in the 400 class.

I,ve been a member of the poynton club now for a few years.

This is my second season of racing now which i,m having so much fun at hence the teams name just 4 fun racing.

There are normally five members of the just 4 fun team, but only me racing this weekend.

My wife and me daughter are tagging along this weekend,so i will pop around for that brew and a chat darren.

@ darren, sorry matey, but could,nt resist.

iam not doing as much racing this year because i cant commit the necessary time needed to do a full championship,

so ill be doing the odd meeting at sisters and some track days, ( some circuits on the gixer, and some supermoto

track days with dirt )

the club usually organises a track day which some of us attend, theres also the nurburgring trip ( highly recommended )

no doubt someone will be along to discribe the succession of old shiters ive called race bikes.

i may well take up the offer of the brew, in the mean time if you need to borrow eneything, tyre warmers, genny, desent

bike, give me a call.

I will racing in the oddball class at Three Sisters later in the year. Wont be doing the first one in May but will keep an eye out for you then. If you are racing at Tonfanau then get in touch with Ian Jackson & friends at the next club night.
