More often than not, we target “events” at members who should, ideally, be registered on and use the forum. The regular place to put items like the Poynton Show (before they have happened) is either in the “General” forum or the “Ride-Out” forum - or both.
The “events” part of the site is not aggresively updated (as you can see), but we can start informing the general public of the stuff we do on those pages if there is stuff of interest. The other “place” where events like the show are described is in the “news” section of the site - but these posts are after the event and contain a resume of the event and photos etc.
The Poynton Show also has it’s own website (http://www.poyntonshow.co.uk/) where people can find out more about it and what it entails.
If members attended last months meeting they will recall an announcement regarding the show which basically stated that any members wishing to attend the show should be at the Workies on Saturday 27th August for 9am with a view to leave for the show ground (where the PMC will exhibit) at 9.15am sharp - hopefully arriving at 9.30am.
There will be a PMC barbecue with free burgers, hot dogs and drinks available to members - and members only - due to H&S and licence reasons (we are allowed to poison you, but not members of the general public).
The show finishes around 5pm and has all the usual stands, animals, rides, community tents etc.
The only constraints for PMC members attending the show (and exhibiting their bikes) is that the organisers have very sensibly asked that anyone wishing to leave the showground on their bikes do so only on the hour, and be marshalled out of the ground by another member wearing high vis (Health and Safety again).
The Poynton Show has been written about in past magazines (obviously new members won’t have seen those) but the format for the show is the same every year. It is also a regular topic in the forum (once a year at least!) if anyone cares to search for it.
Hope this gives you and other members an idea of what goes on - any further questions - just post.
