Just to let you know my main man who did most of my bike at Stockport Motorcycle Centre, is setting up working together with another ex SMC chappy in Hazel Grove (Business is currently operating and is called Kitts Motorcycles), and is based near McDonalds ( La Bigga Mac).

Daz is the man………….he is getting some flyers made up to let people what he does Etc.

I am meeting up with him Monday to try to get PMC members mucho cheapo rates. (Though bear  in mind everyone has to make a living).

He's a clever sod that can make things out of metal and everything……………….along with more normal servicing, tyres Etc Etc.

Tatty Bye.

Nice one H. This might sound like a stupid question, but will they be selling bikes? Or will they just be doing services/repairs and selling parts/accessories?

I've had several bits done at Kitts and found him to be both reasonable priced and personable, no hesitation in recommending him, he works from a fairly modest unit with little space (if any) for selling bikes but hpefully this could change.

Not sure exactly how it's going to work at the mo until I call down next week.

As far as I know “Daz” from Stockport Motorcycle Centre is initially just sharing premises with Kitts, but I will obv get a better idea once I've called down.

Think Daz's idea is to concentrate on servicing / tyres Etc Etc.

Just got back from Kitts Motorcycles in Hazel Grove (Off School Street- Rear of McDonalds).

Smart little set up.

Proper bike repair shop- If however you insist on chrome furniture, laminate flooring, along with well dressed smarmy sales people it's probably not the place for you.

At the time of my visit they had just finished a service on a rather nice Kwak ZX10R, also in the shop was an interesting Old Skool Yam XS650 Chopper/Low rider, along with a couple of other bikes.

Their aim is to provide quality servicing & repairs to all Jap bikes to AT LEAST main dealer standards, but at more reasonable prices. They will also work on “Off Road” type bikes which apparently not everyone will do.

What you will get is honest advice and a job done properly. They are very keen on building their business by repeat business and personal recommendation.

They can also provide MOT's as part of a service. (They do not currently have their own MOT facilities, but are considering getting them- Apparently an expensive thing to set up).

Tyres can be fitted to loose wheels, plus they provide a ride in ride out service.

They are looking to get some flyer's made up, which will give “Fixed Price” servicing costs. (None of those nasty little surprises when you pick your bike up). They also seemed quite open to offering PMC members special rates on work!

As a young business I am certainly going to support them by using them. (I'm getting sick and tired of smaller bike shops having to close!).

In the mean time if any PMC members are looking for any of the above services give them a try on 07799 088040. Tell them that you are a PMC member and I'm sure that they will look after you.

Tatty Bye!

If anybody is interested I have found out the answer to this question.  Danny is working for Honda Manchester, who are situated in the Old Ducati Building on the A50 at High Leigh just north of Knutsford.
