Hi all

Spoke to Christian at the hotel today.

The best time for us to go is either Thursday 16th or Friday 17th July returning Saturday 25th and back in the UK on the Sunday morning.

This is a week earlier than last year but the schools will have already finished in England.

He has the European Fazer club on the following weekend so it's not possible to accomodate us all.

Can I have names on a postcard please or post it here and I will add you to the list.

I don't need any deposits, but you will have to pay the ferry in full when I book it in Jan/Feb it's about £170 for the overnight to Zeebrugge including meals.

Well if Brads going I'll have to go!

Can't pass up the opertunity to take the piss for a whole week!

Ian what Happened to the vetting policy for this trip? I feel open invitations are subject to the wrong kind of pepole being able to sneak in and really piss the whole group off!……..can't think when that happened last maybe TNT can remind us……….?

@ Ed,

IMO people vett themselves by their own actions ;  once found to be incapable of

normal excepted standards of behavior they effectively exclude themselves from

       future invitation.

the question then arrissing is who is the arbitor of these standards, ?

i would suggest that this is the domain of the committee when compiling rules of membership.

I can safely answer your questions concerning suitability for the Nurburgring trip.

We need people who…….

1 Don't get their bikes serviced or checked for loose bits before setting off on a 1000 mile plus journey

2 If possible go with the minimum tyre tread and hardly any oil

3 Wear a rucksack that's so uncomfortable that your mate has to strap it to his bike for the entire journey

4 Have numerous dietary issues

5 An intolerance of flies

6 When absolutely vital e.g. going home don't mark junctions so the others have to go 100 miles the wrong way.

7 Leave essential cameras switched on and drain the batteries

8 Snore all night

9 Have no maps or any idea where they are

10 Crash 2 days before the trip and need help getting their leathers on and off

……room for more; feel free to add your own criteria.

Hmmmm couple more for the list

11. Must be able to talk bollocks for at least 3 days with out pausing for breath.

12. must be able to generate mild hysteria amongst local school children by wearing shorts/boots and long sock combination.

Think the list is the best vetting policy by far for the following reasons

People excluded from Judging acceptable behavior.

1. Ed - Obnoxious Bastard

2. Brads - Boring Bastard

3. Ian - Slimy salesman type Bastard

4. Kurt - 2 timing Bastard

5. TNT - Hungry Bastard

6. Chris - Moaning Bastard

7. Gus - Looking like a Pedo in his shorts Type Bastard

8. Pip - Inpatient Bastard

9. Matt - Just a Bastard type Bastard

10. Richard - Questionable walks in the hills Type Bastard

@  ian.

whats wrong with the ginger one, ? i would consider myself a very lucky man.

(oviously she may not relish the prospect quite so readily )

the days when i could be picky have long since gone.

back on thread.

has no-one else expressed a interest in this years trip. ?

Mark,

I reckon so far it's

Me,you,Ed,Kurt,Gus,Chris,Pip for sure

There are quite a few others who have asked and if they all want to go we may need to split into 2 groups.

Can you take “G” for George and I will take ”A” for Apple ?

It is deep regret my (Richard) friend and I have had to make other arrangements and book early to avoid disappointment for our July trip. Although it appears having had a quick look at the map, and proposed routes we shall be making an enduring journey through some long dark tunnels, frequently across europe on this journey. Of course as usual a diary of events will be mainted for prosterity & the pupose of referal if any implications arise, or I can turn these details into MONEY.

@ keith,

thanks to the technological wonder of the bable fish, i presume that you and richard

will not be in attendance on the nurburgring trip. ?

therefore :-  are eney club members interested in this trip,?  i know outhers who would

want to go, but club members should take precedence.

@ ian,

when do you require deposits. ?

not one to harp on as you all know!

I read this today

Touring In A Group
In a group there is more security and people to talk to but at the price of lowest common denominator behavior and decision making. The degree to which this is a problem varies with your personality and that of your travel companions. Remember that the IQ of a group is the IQ of the dumbest person in the group divided by the number of people in a group. As a consequence, groups can do some pretty stupid things - things that the individual members would never do on their own.

on its own an interesting statement add the fact 7 of us are going to Germany with Gus and Brads!!!

Oh Shit…..

Hands up if you cant wait! only 2 weeks to go for the Alpha Group……….Kurt and the special needs group has a little longer to wait!

Cool

Owing to family commitments iam unable to attend this years nurburgring trip.

so a free ticket is available to eneyone whos interested, i know its a bit last min, but the sailing is on weds 15th returning on sat 26th

the down side is you will have to share a cabin with ian R, Ed, and chris, so id strongly suggest takeing industrial ear defenders and a

knife for personal protection. alternately theres a berth on the friday sailing with as Ed puts it the “special needs group”

                                                                                                                                   brads.

ps.  have a great time, and wave at the web cam, ill try and capture some images.
