Hi everyone, i spotted this club whilst browsing for one for my son to join. He is 20, lives in High lane and is looking for mates his own age locally for ride outs, friendhsip and the likes.
Please can anyone who would like to become mates, intersted in helping a newby find his feet etc, please post details, so Sam can make contact, preferably email, bit easier to chat like that first off i think ?
He has ridden since he was 16 and at prsent has Honda VFR.
Hope you all can help
Thanks a lot
Debbie

Debbie, Iam not sure what percentage of PMCs membership is of a similar age to your son,(our membership secretary may be able to help) most of the ones ive met are coffin dodgers like myself, who having owned bikes from a young age are reluctant to trade them for a zimmer.
Take a look in the ride out section for events and dates, should he decide to attend he would be made welcome.
ps. its good to know young riders exist, and not all espier to a hot hatch, pumping out drum and bass “croozin” the streets lowering house prices.
brads.

He could always come along to our stand at the Poynton show on the 29th of August.
Maybe even get a free burger if he asks nicely.

Hi Debbie
I'm the membership secretary.
As far as I'm aware we don't have too many members around your son's age, most are slightly older than that in terms of age, but not necessarily in attitude! However, that doesn't mean he wouldn't be made welcome.
We have a ride-out to Wales this Sunday (details on other posts) which he is most welcome to join and see if he enjoys himself.
As Gary says we will also be at the Poynton Show if he wants to come along and the next Club meeting is on September 2nd

Hi i'm Catherine, i'm 22 and live in Stockport, i've just booked my CBT for this Saturday with Stockport School of Motorcycling so very excited and very nervous, never even sat on a motorbike before.
I was just browsing the web to see if there were any clubs nearby and this one sounds great. If all goes well i might be turning up at your next meeting or the one after (and hey if all doesn't go well maybe i'll come along anyway for advice )
If all goes well i think i'm looking to get a Yamaha xt125r.
Cat.

I am sure I echo the sentiments of the vast majority (if not all ) of the club members in saying that if you ride a bike, if you intend to ride a bike or if you just like bikes, then you are welcome at the club. We are friendly bunch and are prepared to give advice and help where and when we can.
Just to re-iterate club general policy: non-members are welcome at the club meetings - all we ask is that you don‘t take the mickey (we reckon three visits is more than enough to decide whether you want to join us or not. Same goes for club ride-outs - 3 and decide). All I can say is most visitors join after the first visit.
Membership is only a tenner and that includes some top stuff, like a free club mag, discounts at local shops, subsidised further training (a gobsmacking offer which more people should take -up), some cracking guest speakers (see the John McGuiness article in “club news” on the main site and in the forum posts).
Like any club, the more you put into it the more you get out of it.
Our next meeting is the first Wednesday in September (2nd) but we will be at the Poynton Show on August 29th if anyone wants to check us out

Hi Debbie
Your son should definately come to the Poynton Show or one of the meetings and have a look and a chat. Im 28 myself and ride a Suzuki SV 650. I have been a member for 3 years now and it was the best thing I did. I have learnt so much about safe riding and great biking roads and if your son has any problem with his bike then GUARANTEED there will be someone who will know how to fix it.
I was worried when I first joined that it might be a load of old bikers grumbling about the “youth of today” but it is ALWAYS a laugh and I have met loads of people from 18 to….. well I wouldnt like to say!!!!!!
Everyone makes you feel VERY welcome.
Hope to see you and your son at the Show.
