Right think it's sorted.

Run out to Maxton Suspension (Near Warrington) - Purveyors of bike suspension porn:-

SATURDAY 10th July leaving PWMC car park at 8.00AM.

Visit will last from arrival at 9.00am ish until about 12.45pm ish.

If you want anything to drink/eat between these times please bring your own food/drinks.

As this is not classed as a run out  (And I am therefore not bound by any nanny state rules);-

I will not be wearing and Hi-Viz or similar.

There will be no route instructions either in written format or posted on any website anywhere. (If you want any please arrange yourself).

I will prob be riding like a bit of a t***.

Numbers are limited to 10……………therefore first come first served. (Some people put their names down when this idea was first muted, but as it was a long time ago, names will be taken from now).

Whilst at Maxton there is to be only limited referal to “The good old days” See Ron Haslam Norton Racing / Elf racing Etc.

Drooling however is permitted.

And me, I have a Maxton unit fitted to my CBF100 but would like to know how it was made.  Also, (I am sure the quick will have worked it out, but I have been there before, to deliver and pick up the Honda, so even if I get left behind I will get there) so no bother how anyone rides.  And I had my name down on the origional list.

There was a very interesting programme on Sky How stuff works and it was about Monroe gas filled shock absorbers.  It showed how they are made and tested afterwards.

Thanks for the offer H but having seen it I have a note from my Mum to say I don't need to go on the trip and can go to Germany instead.

I didn't know Honda made a CBF100 seems a bit over the top to change the suspension, personally I would have spent the money on more powerFoot in mouth

Whats the matter with you?

Passing up on a chance to see the inner workings of Suspension Guru's almost F1 workshop?

It's not worth doing for just 3 club members!!

Unless we get at least 6, the event will have to be cancelled…………….so there!

Petulance is not a virtue Hamish.

Suspect some club members will not have heard about it through website - I’m sure it will be announced at the club meeting next week and you will get the required number of attendees.

Be patient (although I know, for you, that’s tough)

Apparently some club members have asked if the route to Maxton's involves any motorways.

As it is not a ride out as such , and more of a visit, the route will be the shortest one, which will involve motorways. (Maxton's is approx 30 miles from Poynton).

If however anyone wants to meet the group up there at Maxton's thats fine.  Please however log your name here so I know the numbers and who is due to arrive at Maxton's.

Cheers

H. Being as I'm coming from sunny Oldham, I'll make my own way there. Should get there for about 8.30ish.

For anyone else thinking of making their own way there, or avoiding the motorway, click this link for a map of where Maxton are based;

For Sat-Nav users, the Postcode is WA6 6HX

But don't forget! Leaving the Workies at 8 o' clock in the morning,  so you need to arrive at Maxton for about 8.30

See you there,

Rob D.

Big Thaks to H for organising this. Very interesting and informative and the people couldn't be more accommodating. Well, they could have given us all a free suspension unit, but I'm guessing that was a bit impractical.

If I'm ever in the market for a suspension upgrade, I'll definitely give them a good look at. I love the fact that they build the unit to YOUR requirements. Brilliant place.

I've also decided I'm going to put a CNC machine on my Christmas pressie list! Awesome toy!!

Cheers again H.
