It seems that there is only me left with an off road bike for green laneing left in the club at the moment. I havn't used my Serow for 2 years and if there is no one else interested I might as well sell the thing. If anyone else is interested please let me know.

Keith, you have seen it at the club stand at the last three Poynton Shows but I am more interested in using it than selling it. However if it is going to sit in my garage for another two years without going Green Laneing I think, with all the extras fitted it is worth £900-£1000

David,
I'm not a member of the PMC yet but I am based in Poynton and have a WR250F. One of my friends and try to get out on the lanes once or twice a month so if you fancy tagging along, or showing us your favorite routes, then feel free to drop me a line.
Regards
Greg

Greg, wonder how you manage to log on if your not a member? Norally riding the lanes is a winter activity and I stick to the tarmac in the summer but if you are the May meeting perhaps we could talk

Hi David,
I recently joined as a member of this forum, but have yet to get to a meeting as I have other commitments of a wednesday evening. I will try to get things sorted so I can come to the May meeting & we can chat about it.
Regards
Greg

Just doing my usual thing of trawling through all the posts in the forum, making sure nobody is saying anything too naughty or contentious that may get the club into a lawsuit or other legal bind (as Admin I am obliged to do this).
Noticed the query from “maccmanx” asking “how a non-member of the club can post on the forum?”
I thought I would clarify the situation for everyone. From the very beginning of the design of the new website and forums, fora, fori (what is the plural of forum – never mind, just give me a forum, oh and I’ll have another one as well please).
The club committee decided that we would leave the forums open for anyone (that’s anyone who was prepared to register and give up some details) to post.
The reasoning behind this was to encourage lively comment and debate, give potential new members a place where they could check out how the land lies and get a flavour of the club before joining.
As the forum has an appointed Admin who checks ALL the posts and has the power to remove posts and their contributors from the forum, the committee felt that this was a reasonable position to take.
PS. It’s fora (if you observe the Latin origins)

From my perspective as the new boy & as yet non-member of the club, I think that's a very good decision by the comitte. I would probably never have considered joining PMC otherwise! Anyway, I'll hope to see some of you at the next meeting for a friendly bit of chit chat (& mickey taking by the look of it!)

I have just bought a green laner and am amazed at how difficult it is to find anybody who wants to get out there! I live in south Cheshire and I'm searching for someone with experience in green laning to hook up with. Dave lets talk, I dount know if I am allowed to leave my number but here it is anyway 07598 928 616, cheers, Mike.

I can't help it if my Sat-Nav's got an unhealthy obsession for sheep! I got it from a place in Yorkshire. Baaaarsnley I think!
I'm just glad it's not anally obsessed, otherwise I might end up up someone's back alley!

Mike, let me try and help. Yes, at one time quite a few of us had green laners and it was a great laugh watching your mate nearly drown or going over the bars. Then the Janet Street-Porter lot got a load of the lanes closed and the Police were handing out ASBOs if you got caught where you shouldn't be.
Also as our numbers reduced it became more difficult to get sufficient numbers to go so it kind of dwindled away.
Why not try Owen's off road bike shop on the A6 in Hazel Grove just after the Rising Sun on the left hand side it's called Manchester Xtreme or the TRF Cheshire guys here

Good luck
Ian

Sorry Mike after months of waiting I sold my Serow last November, so now have nothig to go Green Laning on any more. I would not recomend the High Peaks and Potteries group of the TRF, they meet too far away and I did not have the best experience with them.
