Ow Dooo!
You may or may not be aware that the Northwich Thundersprint receives funding from Cheshire West Council. We have been asked to raise awareness to an appeal to help bolster the funding provided;

We Need Your Help

This is a 5* important plea for help. Please read this note carefully and sympathetically.

As you know, Local Government throughout Britain is under severe budget constraints. Despite this, the help we are receiving from Cheshire West and Chester is completely outstanding. In the current climate, the Council’s degree of commitment, not to say enthusiasm, is remarkable.

Further, the Authority has provided asssurances which lead us to believe that, at least in the forseeable future, the Thundersprint is safe in its Northwich home. This is particularly comforting at a time when every non-essential item in every Council’s budget is facing intense scrutiny.

Perhaps best of all, Cheshire West and Chester want the Thundersprint to grow and develop – not merely to remain static. To this end, we have worked with the Authority to promote what we feel will be a spectacular evening of entertainment on Saturday 7 May.

As the Thundersprint Bike Show finishes, the evening’s entertainment will start.

 This is the programme for:

“An Evening of Grand Prix Entertainment at Northwich Memorial Hall – Directly Next to the Thundersprint Bike Show”

Tickets for the whole evening - £7.50 per person if pre-booked now

1) Doors open at 5pm. Hot Pot supper available at a cost of £4.50 - and bar opens.

2) 6.40 – 7.25 – Classic stars and celebrities starring:

Jim Redman – six times World Champion

 Sammy Miller – European Champion

Chesca Miles – Britain’s only female stant rider

Danny John Jules – “Cat” from Red Dwarf

 Plus some surprise guests!

 3) 7.30 – 8.45

BBC TV’s Steve Parrish “assisted” by:

 Cal CrutchlowBritain’s only MotoGP rider

Danny WebbBritain’s top 125 GP rider

Chris WalkerWorld and British Superbike star

 Matt RobertsBBC TV MotoGP commentator

This anarchic team will discuss some of the things that the BBC won’t allow to be broadcast!

I am not even going to guess what subjects will be included but for absolute certain it will be a hilarious evening

8.45 – 9.15: Meet all the stars in the artrium of the Memorial Hall for autographs, chat and whatever else you can persuade them to  do.

9.15 – 10.30 – The Little Black Hearts – Britain’s top up and coming Rock and R&B band.

Here is a link to their “My Space” page which has clips of their music:

 http://www.myspace.com/thelittleblackhearts

I am absolutely NOT an expert on rock/blues bands but I have been told that the Little Black Hearts are currently Britain’s hot tip for stardom.

To be absolutely blunt, we need you to buy two tickets per rider for this evening.

Clearly, this is just £15.00 per rider.

Better still, in buying the tickets now you get a £1.00 voucher, per ticket, for your hotpot supper so the cost of your whole night will be £10.50 per person.

As you know, we already subsidise race entries to make them affordable – and we lose a lot of money on every Cavalcade entry. And at the risk of stating the very obvious, spectators don’t pay any admission fee. Therefore, I am very optimistic that you will play your £15.00 part – plus, hopefully, hotpot supper – to support Cheshire West and Chester Council in their efforts.

There is one other thing I need. Please take active steps to spread the word about this evening so that as many of your friends/supporters/business colleagues/family also buy tickets so that all 1000 spaces are sold.

I cannot stress how important this is and I do hope that you will be able to help us in what is a very serious matter.

A booking form is required – and please return it to:

Steve Casey, Manager, Northwich Memorial Hall, Chester Way, Northwich, Cheshire, CW9 5QJ.

If you have any queries, please let me know.

 Best wishes

 Frank Melling

Looks like it will be a good night in aid of a very good cause, especially if your a biking fan.

If you want to attend the evening you will need to complete and send a booking form which you can request by clicking this link;

rideoutcoordinator@poyntonmotorcycleclub.co.uk

and I'll send you an electronic copy which you will have to print out.
